Moving on, Hunters are basiclly some kind of scouting devices leaded by the combine. They come in packs of three at a time, and in the last chapter of HL2 EP2, the Hunters circle the incoming Striders going to the White Forest rocket to stop the launch off. Hunters have unique fighting styles.
The Combine sacrificed their entire Citadel just to send out a message back to the Overworld. They're not going to destroy Earth while that ship remains.
